Principal’s Message

Kia ora

A massive thank you to all for your messages of concern and support after the devastating vandalism we suffered during the recent school holidays. Thanks to an amazing team of tradies and cleaners we were able to start the term on time.

The vandals have been identified and this incident is now a police matter. We ask that everyone leave it to them to now follow up and address this offending.

Ngā mihi

Katrina Day

Public Health Nurse

We are aware that head lice are an ongoing issue. Please check your children’s hair regularly and if you need any product or combs just ask at the school office

Attendance

One of our strategic goals this year is to improve attendance, we have gotten off to a great start in Term 1 but we know it can be even harder in the winter as the weather gets colder. Our goal is to have at least 70% of our students with regular attendance, here more than 90% of the time. Term 2 is only a 9 week term so to achieve this students need to miss no more than 4 days this term.

                                                           Term 4 2024          Term 1 2025

And sisters, Kiara and Abba who have moved back from Australia.

Gallery

A large carved mural of a wheke, tuna and fish has been at the entrance of our school for a number of years. Over time it has been quite damaged and worn by the weather and has been restored twice. We have decided to now display it inside the hall in order to protect it from any further environmental damage.

How to support learning at home.

A great way to support learning at home is to have children help you with cooking, reading a recipe, following sequence of instructions, using measurement and simply learning practical life skills.

Device time can also support learning with a range of great maths games
