Garden to Table

We have a very plentiful school garden which has been developed by our “Garden to Table” programme. Older students work in the garden every Thursday, then use produce from it to make a meal for their class. Younger students then get the chance to go into the garden in the afternoon. Students not only develop some practical gardening skills, they also learn about the science behind it and enjoy a delicious meal.

Homework

We ask families to support their child’s schoolwork with regular reading at home. All students will be provided with a book bag when they first enrol and their class teacher will send home books, basic facts and spelling words.

This year we have Homework Passports which teachers are monitoring for each student, depending on their abilities.

Books, magazines, recipes, comics, instructions: encouraging reading in any form is a great way to support learning. Whether being read to, reading with or reading by themselves, reagrdless of which language students are reading they are being immersed in words.

Lunches

We provide a healthy lunch every day for all students thanks to the “Ka Ora, Ka Ako: initiative. We can cater for special dietary needs if requested.

Scooters

Scooters and bikes may only be ridden to and from school if students are wearing a cycle helmet. At break times they can only be ridden on the bike track.

Stationery

We provide all stationery free to students.
