Unfortunately we have had a serious incident on one of the pedestrian crossings outside our school. A parent coming to pick up their child at 3 o’clock was struck on the crossing between the Mobil and the PIC church. Our thoughts are with his whānau as he recovers and we ask that everyone takes extra caution when driving, walking and using the crossings near our school. We will be reminding students of general road safety, safe crossing and looking to increase monitoring of students crossing. If anyone is available at the end of the school day to assist in crossing students, your help would be very much appreciated.

“A malu i fale, e malu i fafo“
This is a Samoan proverb that embodies our CARE value of respect. It translates as “Respect yourself and others will respect you”.
We encourage students to demonstrate respect using good manners, taking care of equipment and our environment and generally treating all others with respect.

At this point there is a planned strike on Thursday 23 October of teachers, teacher aides and other support staff. As almost all of our staff are union members the school will be closed on this day.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Kids Can Cook Competition 2025 – Breakfasts of the World
As part of our Garden to Table kitchen programme, we hold an annual cooking competition. During the last three weeks of Term 3, the Year 5 and 6 children worked as a team to compete in various challenges. Besides cooking, all the teams wrote a mini report on the benefits of eating breakfast and the different kinds of breakfast eaten by children around the world. We also had a garden/kitchen knowledge quiz. The annual competition encourages the children to work as a team, utilise the skills they have learnt in the kitchen, and build their confidence in the kitchen.
To reflect the theme of this year’s cooking competition, the contestants prepared Okonomiyaki (Japanese vegetable pancake) and Shakshuka (Middle Eastern tomato/vegetable stew served with an egg.)
