Principal’s Message

Kia ora

Term 2 is all go. Mahinawa satellite class are now in their own room, Te Puna o Te Awaiti, the purple building. Work on our old “B” block, Te Awarua o Parirua is now underway with asbestos removal as the first step.

Last week our new students went on a bus trip to check out the featurse of our school pepeha and this week Tuna class are off to Battle Hill to see the tuna in the creek there.

Next week we will also head up too Maraeroa School for students to participate in a “Try Challenge” And all our regular programmes of Te Reo, Gagana Samoa, Kuki Airani and Homework Club are up and running.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter and holiday break

Term 2 already – whanau – please look at getting Winter things ready for our children (clothing, shoes etc)

Flu vaccinations – please keep in touch with your GP clinic

As a Board we are pleased to welcome two new Board members Falefatu Nimarota and Jess Paki. There is still scope for others who are keen – happy to have a chat with anyone that wants to – a great opportunity to be a part of our school and help it grow – your input is important.

Thank you to all our staff that keep our tamariki safe and the mahi they do for our community.

 Office Updates

A reminder for all whanau that Variety Club sponsorship is available. Application forms are at the school office and Kerrin can assist with any questions. If children or families have a Community Services card then that is the only requirement for the financial information.

Due to recent measle outbreaks we are requesting immunisation certificates for all students to be provided to the school office as soon as possible please. This information is recorded in our Student Management System.

 Pacific Health Scholarships

Please share the following with Pacific young people about the Pasifika Medical Association’s Pacific Health Education Scholarships 2023. 

There are 19 awards available, which aim to support Pacific students pursuing careers in health-related fields as well as medical professionals currently practicing in their respective area of work.
