Room Eight

Welcome to Room Eight's new webpage!
This year the children and I are hoping that we can create regular posts about the goings on in Room Eight. So keep your eyes peeled for new photos and posts in the coming weeks.

We have had a great start to the year; it has been wonderful to see lots of happy faces in the classroom, both new and old. The children have settled into being back at school spectacularly well and I am so impressed with how grown up and focused they have been about their learning. This week, I have sent home a newsletter about what sorts of things that your children will be learning about this term and how you can help at home. I know that notices often get lost in school bags or on the walk home from school so I have attached a copy here.

I mentioned in the newsletter about the heat that we are experiencing. It is unusually hot at the moment and the children have been coping particularly well with making sure that they have sun hats on outside and drinking water regularly. To help keep your children cool please try to send them to school wearing cooler clothes or layers that can be removed if it is a bit chilly in the morning. This would be much appreciated - we want to make sure that your children are as comfortable as possible, which helps making sure that they are ready to learn.

In a few weeks, on Thursday 1st March, we will be having our Let's Talk sessions. They will start from 2:30pm to 7pm - on this day school will finish at 2pm. A notice will be sent home about times that you can come to see me. I am looking forward to being able to chat about your wonderful children. Please note that you can also come and talk to me about any concerns or questions that you may have - I am happy to help in any way that I can.

Many thanks
Miss Kerse
